Below are three wonderful examples of coral jewelry.
Coral is a hard organic substance that is the skeleton of small marine invertebrates that live in colonies. Coral used in jewelry is compact and features no visible indentations. Coral ranges in color from pinkish-white to ox-blood red. Its primary origin was the Mediterranean shores where it was used to carve cameos. Since ancient times, coral has been worn to ward off evil magical spells.
