1953 Hattie Carnegie Rooster Pin. Rare whimsical 1953 Hattie Carnegie figural rooster in antique gold-tone base metal with molded and carved red, black and yellow lucite insets for head, tail feathers, and body feathers. Signed Hattie Carnegie on an applied oval plaque on reverse. [See "20th Century Fashionable Plastic Jewelry, 2003 Edition" by Lillian Baker, p. 93.] [Ms. Baker describes the insets as Bakelite. No matter how much testing I do, I cannot justify calling them Bakelite and so have described them as lucite, yet have included it in this category. New Old Stock Shultz Bakelite Scottie Dog Pin. Early to mid-1990's old stock, but newly carved, red Bakelite scottie dog pin with black painted eye and nose. Brass pin back. Signed Shultz in script on reverse. width: 2-5/8", height: 3-1/4"

Brown Bakelite Alligator Pin. 1930 to 1940's dark chocolate brown deeply carved Bakelite alligator/crocodile pin with scales on body, feet and tail. Riveted pin back with c-clasp. length: 3-7/16", width: 13/16"

Bakelite Chili Peppers Necklace. You'll be the hottest one around when you wear this absolutely fabulous c. 1930's vintage Bakelite chili pepper necklace with a double silver on brass chain leading to three rows of interlocking white celluloid rings on either side connected in the middle with double white celluloid rings from which hang six pagoda shaped findings each holding five peppers, hot orange cayenne peppers and black (purple) serrano peppers and the hottest green hot banana peppers. Truly spectacular! total length: 16-1/2"; length of celluloid rings: 7-1/2"; peppers: length: 2-1/8", width: 3/8"
Reverse Carved and Painted Bakelite Bracelet. This rare, exceptional, fabulous vintage 1935 to 1945 two-tone Bakelite bracelet is pictured in "Warman's 3rd Edition" on p. 150. The detail and condition are superb. This dynamite bracelet is guaranteed to be vintage and all original and in very good condition. The oval central plaque has a reverse carved and painted pansy motif in "apple juice" framed in laminated butterscotch, flanked by half round cranberry red segments and lozenge-shaped butterscotch segments strung on elastic cord. There are six lozenge-shaped segments and five half-round segments. Dimensions: central plaque: width: 2-3/8", height: 1-1/4", cranberry segments: width: 15/16", height: 7/8", lozenge-shaped segments: width: 1/4", height: 15/16"
Bakelite Stretchie Bracelet. Wonderful 1930 to 1940's stretchie Bakelite bracelet with apple juice and marbled green alternating segments, 20 in total, tapering from 1/2" depth on the thick end to 1/4" depth on the thin end. Each segment is curved and faceted on the underside as well as being faceted on the fat end. Each is 1-1/2" long by 3/8" wide. Superb condition!
Bakelite Plaque Bracelet. When it comes to KILLER Bakelite bracelets this vintage c. 1930's Bakelite bracelet is no exception. The luscious semi-sweet chocolate color with equally exceptional intricate detailing in the deeply carved dahlia on the arched plaque make this a winner. This expandable Bakelite bracelet has four rows of Bakelite beads strung on elasticized cord.
Bakelite Bangle Bracelet. c. 1940's black Bakelite bangle with four diagonal designs of carved and painted, gilt and applied and raised grey and red strips. Possibly French in origin.
