15 Karat Victorian Hairwork Snake Bracelet. Superb rare Victorian hairwork bracelet in the form of a snake. This semi-rigid flexible bracelet is made completely of braided and tightly-woven light brown human hair terminating in a snake's head and tail. The braiding is in PERFECT condition; there are NO loose hairs. The mountings test 15 karat. The finely engraved snake's head is extremely detailed and the scales are indiivdually incised to mimic an actual snake's scales. The underside of the head is lightly engraved as well.

Gold-filled Horse Shoe and Snake Stick Pin. This c. 1890 gold over brass horseshoe, a symbol of good luck in Victorian times, has an applied Mother of Pearl crescent set with brilliant (faded) and is entwined with a serpent, another Victorian motif symbolizing good luck. width: 3/4", length: 2"
